Suryacipta Welcomes Patimban Seaport Operational Advancement, Accelerating Economic Growth and Investment in West Java

Suryacipta positively welcomes the significant progress in the development and operation of Patimban Seaport. This development aligns with Suryacipta commitment to providing an integrated investment ecosystem for its investors at both Suryacipta City of Industry Karawang and Subang Smartpolitan.

As one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), Patimban Seaport is not only a vital logistics hub but also a key attraction for industrial investment in West Java. This is supported by the rapid progress in its physical construction, particularly the container and vehicle terminals.

Currently, the Patimban Seaport Package 6 development, which focuses on the container terminal, is progressing at a fast pace. This is in line with the parallel operations of the vehicle terminal.

Takahiro Arai, General Manager Sales & Marketing at PT Patimban Global Gateway Terminal (PGT), stated “The container terminal is scheduled to begin operations in January 2026 with a Mobile Harbour Crane (MHC). Its capacity will gradually increase, with two additional MHC units in April 2026 and three Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes and nine Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes in December 2026. With these additions, the container terminal capacity will soar from 250,000 TEUs to 800,000 TEUs by end of December 2026”.

This information was directly delivered to Suryacipta tenants during the Sansuikai event at Suryacipta City of Industry Karawang (17/09/2025). Sansuikai is a monthly agenda regularly held by Suryacipta, serving as a platform for discussion and sharing the latest relevant information, especially for tenant from Japanese companies.

During the event, PGT as the container terminal operator at Patimban Seaport, gave a detailed presentation on their services. The presentation attracted significant interest from attending tenants, particularly those in the manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing sectors.

Suryacipta believes that direct connectivity within a single ecosystem will create optimum synergy for its investors. This advantage is particularly pronounced for Subang Smartpolitan, a 2,717-hectare integrated township development designed for industrial and commercial business areas – including residential, educational, healthcare, and retail facilities, among others.

“We are very optimistic about the progress achieved by Patimban Seaport. This infrastructure is one of the backbones of the logistics ecosystem we offer our clients and tenants”, said Abednego Purnomo, Vice President Sales Marketing & Tenant Relations at Suryacipta. “We hope that with the operation of the container terminal at Patimban Seaport, our tenants, especially those in export-import-oriented manufacturing, will gain a significant competitive advantage”.

Efficient logistics access to Patimban Seaport is a key factor driving investment decisions from various multinational companies in Subang Smartpolitan, such as Kids Play Indonesia and BYD Motor Indonesia. This advantage will be further strengthened as Subang Smartpolitan will eventually have a dedicated toll gate on the Patimban Access Toll Road, shortening travel time to only around 30 minutes.

Abednego added, “We are confident that Patimban Port will play a strategic role as an investment magnet and an economic engine, not only for Subang Smartpolitan but also for the overall advancement of West Java and Indonesia”.

The synergy between the development of Subang Smartpolitan and Patimban Seaport is expected to accelerate investment, create jobs, and make a tangible contribution to national economic growth. Both are part of the government’s grand vision to achieve economic equity by creating new growth centers outside the Greater Jakarta area.
