Subang Regency has again recorded a brilliant achievement due to rapid industrial growth. This positively impacts and significantly increases Original Local Government Revenue (PAD). Pj. Regent of Subang, Dr. Drs. Imran, M.Si., MA.Cd said that PAD in 2025 is projected at Rp. 802.02 billion, an increase of 29.04 percent amounting to Rp. 180.49 billion compared to 2024 which is Rp. 621.53 billion.
The number of unemployed people in Subang Regency has also decreased from 69,565 in 2023 to 63,260 in 2024, which equals 6.73 percent. The existence of the Special Economic Zone could also further push the number down as it can potentially absorb around 200,000 workers in the construction to production stages. Thus, the emergence of industry in Subang Regency is believed to reduce unemployment even more in the future.
In line with the goal to reduce the number of unemployment, the integrated township “Subang Smartpolitan” has so far absorbed various investors from within and outside the country. The investment comes from the electronics industry, electric vehicle automotive, toy manufacturers, and others, opening thousands of new jobs for the people of Subang Regency and its surroundings.
With the increase in labor absorption, it is hoped that it will lead to creating a positive cycle where increased demand for quality labor will encourage increased investment in the education sector, thus sustainably producing competent human resources.
In regards to reducing poverty, the Subang Regency has also made great strides. The percentage of extreme poverty in Subang Regency in 2024 was 0.09 percent or a decrease of 2.07 percent from 2023 of 2.16 percent. Rapid industrial growth has been one of the main drivers of this achievement, where the presence of industry has created a dynamic economic ecosystem, opened new business opportunities, and increased community income. This is reflected in the increasing demand for food, transportation, and various other needs, which in turn drives local economic growth.
On the other hand, the existence of industry in Subang Regency not only has a direct economic and social impact but also encourages sustainable growth. Through the application of environmentally friendly technology and good waste management, environmental quality in the region can be maintained and even improved.
PAD is a vital source of revenue for local governments, acting as a driving force for the implementation of regional autonomy and development. An increase in PAD in Subang Regency will not only finance the development of adequate infrastructure but will also improve the quality of public services such as health, education, and transportation. Furthermore, an increase in PAD will directly contribute to improving the welfare of the people of Subang Regency, creating new jobs and encouraging sustainable economic growth.
