PT Suryacipta Swadaya through Suryacipta City of Industry (Suryacipta), is once again trusted by the number 1 electric two-wheel vehicle company in China as the location of its manufacturing plant. Today, Monday, May 13, 2024, PT Yadea Technology Indonesia has just held a groundbreaking ceremony in Suryacipta City of Industry, Karawang. The establishment of this manufacturing plant marks Yadea’s unwavering commitment to expand its reach in the Indonesian market and bring revolutionary green mobility solutions to the Indonesian people.
Having successfully conducted market tests in Indonesia since March 2023, Yadea is increasingly convinced that the Indonesian market has enormous potential. This is reinforced by positive policy support from the government and the availability of qualified supporting facilities. Yadea is confident that its products will become a popular choice for Indonesians looking for environmentally friendly, stylish, and affordable mobility solutions.
Largest Factory in Southeast Asia, Massive Investment to Meet Domestic and Export Demand
Yadea’s manufacturing plant in Suryacipta will be its largest plant in Southeast Asia and the eighth Yadea plant globally. Previously, on May 6, 2024, Yadea signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement with Suryacipta to purchase a 27-hectare industrial plot. Yadea will build a two-wheeled electric vehicle manufacturing facility that is scheduled to start operations in 2026. The facility is targeted to be able to produce 3 million units of vehicles per year to meet the needs of the Indonesian domestic market and exports to neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Timor Leste, Thailand, and others. The investment value for this project from 2024 to 2028 is estimated to be more than USD 150 million.
Yadea’s Commitment to Indonesia: New Jobs, Technology Transfer and Research
In his speech, Mr. Wang Jinlong, General Manager of PT Yadea Teknologi Indonesia said, “The start of construction of Yadea’s smart factory in Indonesia signifies that our globalization has entered an important step. This is also our promise to the vast Indonesian market. In the future we will bring in the most advanced tools and technology from Yadea, creating a factory that is modern, smart, digital, and environmentally friendly. We will make a research center here to meet the demand of the Indonesian people”.
“Once the plant is established, it is expected to create more than 3,000 new jobs. In addition, Yadea will also actively train new local experts together to drive sustainable growth here,” he concluded.
Suryacipta is the Ideal Location for Global Electric Vehicle Industry
Abednego Purnomo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Suryacipta, expressed his pride in the trust given by Yadea to establish its smart plant in Suryacipta City of Industry.
“Congratulations to Yadea on this groundbreaking ceremony. We are honored to be trusted to be the home of a world-class two-wheeled electric vehicle manufacturing plant like Yadea,” Abednego said. “This trust is in line with our company vision, “Building a Better Indonesia”, where we are always committed to maintaining a balance between business and contribution to economic, social, and environmental progress.”
Optimistic about the construction of its new manufacturing plant, in the future Yadea also plans to produce batteries in Indonesia and even expand its manufacturing plant. However, in this case, Abed is still reluctant to provide details about the plan, but the signal of Yadea’s expansion that will soon be realized is certainly good news for Suryacipta City of Industry.
It is known that some of the reasons why Yadea decided to set up its manufacturing plant at Suryacipta City of Industry in Karawang are because of its location that is close to Jakarta and surrounded by many companies within the supply chain, professional area management, and one-stop service through Suryacipta Center of Information (SCI) which is very helpful for tenants in building their business in Indonesia.
The entry of the Yadea electric two-wheeled vehicle plant will certainly make an important contribution to the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. In addition, the surrounding community can also feel the multiplier effect, such as the creation of new jobs that help improve the local economy.
