Sanwa Musen Indonesia Inaugurates New Factory in Subang Smartpolitan, Strengthening New Economic Corridor in Indonesia

PT Sanwa Musen Indonesia, a subsidiary of Japan’s Sanwa Musen Co., Ltd., celebrated the inauguration of its new factory in Subang Smartpolitan on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. As the first tenant in Subang Smartpolitan, this inauguration marks a significant step forward for the area in realizing its vision as a “Green, Smart, and Sustainable City.” It also reinforces Subang’s growing prominence as a new strategic economic corridor in West Java, Indonesia.

Since 1996, Sanwa Musen Indonesia has been a consistent provider of cutting-edge technology solutions for the electronics industry, producing electronic components like transformers, line filters, and choke coils. With the completion of its modern new facility in Subang Smartpolitan, the company is well-equipped to meet future demands and continue delivering high-quality products to a dynamic market.

A new two-hectare factory, built with an investment of USD 10 million (IDR 160 billion), will soon boost production for PT Sanwa Musen Indonesia. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to churn out 3,000,000 to 3,500,000 units per month, catering to both domestic and international markets, particularly for the Panasonic Group. Sanwa Musen Indonesia anticipates starting mass production in December 2024 or January 2025, beginning with 50% of its total capacity.

The official opening was marked by a factory construction handover ceremony between PT Takenaka Indonesia, the main contractor, and PT Sanwa Musen Indonesia. Key attendees included the board of commissioners and directors from Sanwa Musen Co., Ltd., alongside strategic partners such as PT Bank Resona Perdania and PT Suryacipta Swadaya.

In his speech, Mr. Tadashi Kotani, President Director of Sanwa Musen Co., Ltd., expressed his gratitude to all employees of PT Sanwa Musen Indonesia and everyone present at the event. He emphasized Sanwa Musen’s ongoing commitment to earning customer trust by consistently delivering the highest quality products.

Suryacipta, the developer and manager of Subang Smartpolitan and a subsidiary of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk, is thrilled to announce the inauguration of the new Sanwa Musen Indonesia factory within Subang Smartpolitan. This significant milestone reinforces Subang Smartpolitan’s position as a thriving hub in Indonesia’s emerging economic corridor.

“We are very proud that our first tenant, Sanwa Musen Indonesia, successfully held a new factory ceremony today,” said Binawati Dewi, General Manager of Sales & Tenant Relations at Suryacipta. “We believe that this achievement can inspire more world-class companies to establish their investments in Subang Smartpolitan and together build a strong industrial ecosystem in Indonesia, especially in Rebana Metropolitan.”

Dewi highlighted the remarkably swift two-year process for Sanwa Musen Indonesia to purchase land and establish its factory, underscoring Indonesia’s increasingly favorable and efficient investment climate. She noted that Subang Smartpolitan significantly streamlined this process through its one-stop service, offering direct assistance to Sanwa Musen Indonesia from pre-investment through to business operations.

Now strategically located in Subang Smartpolitan, Sanwa Musen Indonesia is poised for greater efficiency in production, logistics, and sales, thanks to the region’s continually improving infrastructure. Subang Smartpolitan is particularly recognized for its direct access to Patimban Seaport via the Patimban Access Toll Road, its proximity to Kertajati International Airport, and its connections to both the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road and the Trans Java Toll Road.

Furthermore, Subang Smartopolis, which is designed as a “Green, Smart, and Sustainable City” will implement Internet of Things (IoT) enabled infrastructure within the estate. This has the potential to further bolster the business operations of tenants, particularly those operating in the electronics sector, like Sanwa Musen Indonesia.

Additionally, the growth of new industries in the Subang area is expected to bring positive and sustainable impacts to the local community. This includes an increase in the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and the creation of jobs, along with improvements in the quality of the local workforce. This aligns with Suryacipta’s vision of “Building a Better Indonesia,” where every business activity aims to positively impact the nation, particularly the communities surrounding its operations.
