PT Suryacipta Swadaya (Suryacipta) has partnered with SCP Consultants Pte Ltd (SCP) to promote investment opportunities in Indonesia, specifically in Subang Smartpolitan to Chinese entrepreneurs and investors.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Mr. Jiang Shun Jie, China Innovation Center Director and Abednego Purnomo, Vice President Sales & Marketing Suryacipta, in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, on Monday, 8 January, 2024.
The agenda was held in conjunction with an investment forum held by Suryacipta to provide information about investment in Indonesia, specifically in the Subang Smartpolitan area, which is an integrated township development developed and managed by Suryacipta. The event was highly appreciated by entrepreneurs and potential investors from China. Companies from various industries, most of which are from the city of Suzhou, participated in the event.
In his remarks, Mr. Jiang said, “We sincerely appreciate the representatives from PT Suryacipta Swadaya for coming from Indonesia to China, to Suzhou, to SCP, and to our entrepreneurs. Through face-to-face communication, we truly felt the business atmosphere from Indonesia. We are glad that this event could help everyone gain inspiration, partners, and trust”.
In the future, Mr. Jiang looks forward to SCP deepening cooperation with Suryacipta. As a professional company in Asian city and regional planning, SCP is willing to build more bridges for overseas companies to ship further in the world. SCP has served more than 2,000 projects in over 200 cities in 14 countries globally. With the development of industrial zones in the world, SCP provides comprehensive professional services, including strategic consulting, urban planning and design, and investment promotion to entrepreneurs and investors.
In the forum, Abednego provided an overview of the growing investment potential in Indonesia. This is supported by increasingly progressive and conducive government policies for investors. One example is online and integrated investment registration through the OSS-RBA system or Online Single Submission Risk Based Approach. In addition, the Indonesian government also offers various investment incentives for investors who place their business locations in industrial area, including Subang Smartpolitan. These incentives include tax holidays, tax allowances, investment allowances, customs & import duties, which are regulated by the Indonesian Business Field Classification (KBLI).
It is hoped that these factors can be utilized by Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to place their investments in Indonesia, especially in Subang Smartpolitan.
Abednego said that inquiries received by Suryacipta are currently dominated by Chinese entrepreneurs, especially from the automotive and electronics sectors. This is not surprising, considering that Subang Smartpolitan has a complete ecosystem for business and commercial areas with a smart, green, and sustainable concept. The area applies IoT-based infrastructure that supports the business activities of tenants, especially hi-tech industries.
In addition, Subang Smartpolitan is also surrounded by competitive labor and integrated with national strategic infrastructure, such as the Patimban Seaport, Kertajati International Airport, and the Trans-Java Toll Road. Moreover, Subang Smartpolitan will have direct access to the Patimban Seaport via toll road with a travel distance of about 30 minutes.
Suzhou itself is the most populous city in Jiangsu Province and is a major economic center and focal point of trade and commerce. According to the Suzhou Bureau of Commerce, Suzhou’s regional gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2023 reached USD 160.32 billion, growing by 4.7 percent compared to the previous year.
In the Chinese Cities of Opportunity 2023 report, PWC ranked Suzhou in the top five in four categories: technology and innovation, transportation and urban planning, culture and quality of life, and ease of doing business. This ranking reflects Suzhou’s excellence as a city that offers a quality life circle with various good public services for living and working.
Suryacipta sees the opportunity in Suzhou, China, and has partnered with SCP to promote investment in Indonesia in this city. It is hoped that this collaboration can be a bridge for Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to invest in Indonesia, which can later bring positive impact for the national economy and can strengthen relations between the two countries. This is in line with the company’s vision to “Build a Better Indonesia”.
