PT Suryacipta Swadaya (Suryacipta) has teamed up with SCP Consultants Pte Ltd (SCP) to boost investment opportunities in Indonesia, specifically in Subang Smartpolitan, for Chinese entrepreneurs and investors.
This partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday, January 8, 2024, in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Mr. Jiang Shun Jie, China Innovation Center Director, and Abednego Purnomo, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Suryacipta, signed the agreement.
The signing coincided with an investment forum hosted by Suryacipta, designed to inform attendees about investment prospects in Indonesia, particularly within Subang Smartpolitan—an integrated township developed and managed by Suryacipta. The event garnered significant interest from Chinese entrepreneurs and potential investors, with companies from various industries, primarily from Suzhou, actively participating.
In his remarks, Mr. Jiang noted, “We sincerely appreciate the representatives from PT Suryacipta Swadaya for coming from Indonesia to China, to Suzhou, to SCP, and to our entrepreneurs. Through face-to-face communication, we truly felt the business atmosphere from Indonesia. We are glad that this event could help everyone gain inspiration, partners, and trust.”
Mr. Jiang expressed his eagerness for SCP to deepen its cooperation with Suryacipta in the future. As a company specializing in Asian city and regional planning, SCP is dedicated to building bridges for overseas companies to expand globally. SCP boasts an impressive track record, having served over 2,000 projects across more than 200 cities in 14 countries worldwide. With the continued growth of industrial zones globally, SCP offers comprehensive professional services to entrepreneurs and investors, including strategic consulting, urban planning and design, and investment promotion.
At the forum, Abednego highlighted Indonesia’s growing investment potential, which is bolstered by increasingly progressive and conducive government policies for investors. A prime example is the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS-RBA) system, offering online and integrated investment registration. Additionally, the Indonesian government provides various investment incentives, including tax holidays, tax allowances, investment allowances, and customs & import duties, all regulated by the Indonesian Business Field Classification (KBLI), particularly for investors locating their businesses in industrial areas like Subang Smartpolitan.
These factors are expected to encourage Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to direct their investments towards Indonesia, specifically to Subang Smartpolitan.
Abednego noted that Suryacipta’s inquiries are currently dominated by Chinese entrepreneurs, especially from the automotive and electronics sectors. This trend is understandable given Subang Smartpolitan’s complete ecosystem for business and commercial areas, designed with a smart, green, and sustainable concept. The area leverages IoT-based infrastructure to support the business activities of its tenants, particularly those in high-tech industries.
Subang Smartpolitan also benefits from a competitive labor pool and seamless integration with national strategic infrastructure, including Patimban Seaport, Kertajati International Airport, and the Trans-Java Toll Road. Notably, Subang Smartpolitan will have direct toll road access to Patimban Seaport, a mere 30-minute drive away.
Meanwhile, Suzhou, the most populous city in Jiangsu Province, stands as a major economic and trade hub in China. Its economic prowess is evident, with a regional GDP reaching USD 160.32 billion in the first half of 2023, marking a 4.7% growth year-on-year, as reported by the Suzhou Bureau of Commerce.
Suzhou’s excellence is further highlighted by its ranking in PwC’s Chinese Cities of Opportunity 2023 report, placing in the top five across four key categories: technology and innovation, transportation and urban planning, culture and quality of life, and ease of doing business. This underscores Suzhou’s reputation as a city offering a high-quality living and working environment with exceptional public services.
Recognizing this significant opportunity in Suzhou, Suryacipta has partnered with SCP to actively promote investment in Indonesia within this city. This collaboration is envisioned as a vital bridge, facilitating Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to bring their investments to Indonesia. Ultimately, this initiative aims to generate positive impacts for the national economy and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, aligning perfectly with Suryacipta’s vision to “Build a Better Indonesia.”
