The recent Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly impacted various sectors globally including the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. This has driven the government and private sector to work hand in hand to minimize the spread of the virus.
Suryacipta, as one of the leading industrial estate, took an active role by cooperating with the government, APINDO and KADIN of Karawang Regency. On 23 June 2020, Covid-19 rapid test and prevention protocol socialization was conducted in the estate with a total of 500 participants.
“We fully support APINDO and KADIN Karawang Regency in conducting the rapid test for our tenants. As the Suryacipta City of Industry management, we are constantly working to optimize the communication toward tenants especially those related to Covid-19 pandemic through industrial activities”, said Ir. Didi Wihardi, Director of PT Suryacipta Swadaya.
Regional Secretary Karawang Drs. H. Acep Jamhuri, M.Sc. said, “in Karawang, the industries were closed during Covid-19 pandemic, they are still operating as long as the health protocol is implemented”. Acep asked the company to assist the government in handling Covid-19 through rapid test activity.
“The awareness of pandemic prevention in the workplace is expected to mend the business productivity. Thus, the national economy will gradually turn to normal. Hopefully, it can be an example for other industrial estate in Indonesia”, said the Minister of Manpower (Menaker), Dra. Hj. Ida Fauziyah, M.Sc.
In accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo, Menaker Ida said that, in dealing with the impact of the pandemic, especially the economic sector, they invited the business and industrial sectors to boost economy.
“The efforts to prevent and break the chain of Covid-19 in the workplace must be carried out together. Although the outbreak not disappeared, the sustainability of the business/ industry should be continued. Therefore, make sure that the workers are safe” add Menaker Ida.
Acep Jamhuri emphasized that the regulation of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Karawang is PSBB segmentation, meaning the application could be flexible. We have continue to carry out the segmentation, therefore no need to be afraid and panicked, since the key is discipline”, said Acep.
