PT Suryacipta Swadaya (Suryacipta), a subsidiary of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), has further strengthened its position in attracting foreign investment to Indonesia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Strategic Banking Partnership and Industrial Investment Promotion with United Overseas Bank (UOB) at the ASEAN Conference 2026, held today at the Resorts World Convention Centre, Singapore.
The signing of this MoU marks an enhancement of the close collaborative relationship established between both parties since 2021. This agreement also expands Suryacipta’s network as part of its “collaborative marketing” strategy with various stakeholders.
This latest agreement represents a strategic agenda wherein UOB and Suryacipta will actively promote Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) opportunities in Subang Smartpolitan, alongside banking services, to investors and industry players across Asia. The MoU was signed by Abednego Purnomo, Chief Commercial Officer of Suryacipta, together with Harapman Kasan, Wholesale Banking Director of UOB.
This collaboration is strongly aligned with Suryacipta’s strategic development direction. Following the success of developing and managing Suryacipta City of Industry in Karawang, the company is now focusing on the development of Subang Smartpolitan as a next-generation industrial estate designed to accommodate growing investment demands.
“We are highly enthusiastic about expanding our strategic collaboration with UOB, which has been our trusted partner since 2021,” stated Abednego. “The signing of this MoU is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to facilitating high-quality FDI flows into Indonesia. Leveraging UOB’s extensive network and Singapore’s position as a business hub in Asia, we are optimistic about introducing the integrated industrial ecosystem at Subang Smartpolitan to regional investors, particularly those in high-tech manufacturing and the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, which are currently a global focus.”
This strategic move also responds to the immense potential of the Asian manufacturing industry, which continues to seek expansion spaces, with Singapore remaining a prominent investment hub as well as one of the world’s leading financial and technological centers. The synergy between Asia’s financial strength and technology, combined with the strategic land availability, logistical connectivity, and operational efficiency offered by Indonesia—specifically through Subang Smartpolitan—serves as an ideal combination to strengthen the resilience of the manufacturing supply chain in Asia.
Suryacipta Highlights the Potential of Indonesia’s Industrial Ecosystem at the ASEAN Conference 2026
In addition to the MoU signing ceremony, Suryacipta, represented by Abednego, actively participated as a panelist at the 10th ASEAN Conference themed “ASEAN’s Future in a Fractured World.” This prestigious event was also attended by Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore, who was present as the guest of honor.
Suryacipta took part in the Indonesia Market Breakout discussion session, presenting the topic “Indonesia’s Industrial Moment: Reform, Risk and the Real Investment Case.” During the session, Suryacipta thoroughly examined Indonesia’s crucial role as an industrial and trade epicenter in ASEAN.
During the presentation, the discussion focused on efforts to optimize logistics networks and deep seaports integrated with industrial estates to support regional connectivity. This infrastructure synergy is a key driver for the growth of advanced manufacturing sectors, energy technology, and innovation. An objective analysis of Indonesia’s industrial investment landscape was also provided, examining how the presence of integrated industrial estates, supported by toll road accessibility and efficient manufacturing corridors, has reshaped Indonesia’s strategic position within the global supply chain.
This is tangibly represented through the development of Subang Smartpolitan. Strategically situated at the extension of the industrial corridor in West Java, Subang Smartpolitan offers exceptional accessibility through direct integration with the Trans-Java Toll Road network, the Patimban Port Access Toll Road, and its close proximity to Kertajati International Airport. This seamless connectivity to Patimban Port significantly reduces logistics time and costs, ultimately positioning the estate as an ideal location for major players in the global manufacturing industry.
Abednego further elaborated, “Subang Smartpolitan is envisioned as a ‘Smart, Green, and Sustainable City’. Through integration with the national logistics network and IoT-based estate infrastructure, we are building a comprehensive ecosystem ready to support manufacturing supply chain resilience. The trust given by global industries—spanning EV, heavy machinery, electronics, and more—who are now tenants in our estate, is concrete proof that Indonesia is ready to become the production base of the future.”
Furthermore, the session comprehensively explored various structural opportunities and challenges presented by Indonesia, providing an overview for global business players currently reconfiguring their production strategies. In closing, the presentation offered a holistic guide for investors regarding the tangible achievements of national infrastructure development and the crucial insights—including investment regulations—that must be fully understood before committing to making Indonesia a long-term supply chain base.
Suryacipta’s proactive measures through the marketing agreement with UOB and its efforts to educate stakeholders on the investment landscape at this international forum are expected to attract more FDI, drive sustainable national economic growth, and solidify Subang Smartpolitan’s position as a catalyst in realizing a competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystem for the future.
